'Lion Heart' and 'You Think' Live Performances on Music Shows

Girls’ Generation has begun their promotions for their fifth album with an appearance on KBS’s “Music Bank”. 


On August 21st, the girls, dressed in outfits from the respective music videos, performed both “You Think” and “Lion Heart”. 
Before entering the KBS Building, the Girls are with the infamous Mr. Lion.




The physical fifth album is now available in both “Lion Heart” and “You Think” versions through various online retailers. The entire album track list can also be purchased on music sites, such as iTunes, and Korean portals, including Bugs! and MelOn






After their performance on 'Music Bank', the Girls headed to MBC for the pre-recording of their performance on 'Show! Music Core'. They also surprised the fans who are waiting outside of the MBC building. 


They provided food trucks (with signed cupholder & message) for SONEs.


The performance is aired on August 22nd where the Girls’ Generation made full performances of “Show Girls”, “You Think”, and “Lion Heart”, each with different sets and outfits.








On August 23rd, the Girls’ returned to SBS’s “Inkigayo” to perform the two songs for their comeback stage.







In the continuation of their promotion, Girls’ Generation appeared on SBS MTV’s “The Show” on August 25th to perform “Lion Heart”, one of their two title tracks for their fifth album.


They were also declared the winner of that program for the week, making this their first win.




On August 26th, Girls’ Generation performed “Lion Heart” on MBC’s “Show Champion”. At the end of the program, the girls were awarded with the show’s “Champion Song”.


This is Girls’ Generation’s second win for their “Lion Heart” and “You Think” dual title tracks.




The Girls’ Generation appeared on Mnet’s “M! Countdown” on August 27th, once again performing “Lion Heart”, one of their dual title tracks for their fifth album.


The girls then achieved first place on the program for the week, making this their third win for this comeback.




On August 28th, Girls’ Generation appeared on KBS’s “Music Bank” to perform “Lion Heart”. Girls’ Generation’s members first held an interview session with VIXX LR in the “Music Bank” waiting room, where they promised that someone would wear the lion head from the “Lion Heart” music video on stage if they won, and later sang “Lion Heart” in new pink outfits.


At the end of the show, Girls’ Generation was announced as the winner of the week’s K-Chart, taking first place. Sooyoung and Seohyun gave acceptance speeches on behalf of the group, and a brief encore stage, with the lion head making a special appearance, was shown.






On August 29th, Girls’ Generation appeared on MBC’s “Show! Music Core” to sing “Lion Heart” from the group’s recent comeback album. Girls’ Generation also was announced as the winner of this week’s “Show! Music Core”, taking home first place.


This was Girls’ Generation’s fifth win with “Lion Heart”, and Sunny gave the winning speech, thanking Girls’ Generation’s staff and fans.




On August 30th, Girls’ Generation performed “Lion Heart” on SBS’s “Inkigayo”. White outfits were chosen for today’s stage, and Girls’ Generation gave another fun performance of their latest song.


At the end of the program, Girls’ Generation was announced as the winner of this week’s “Inkigayo”, taking first place. This marks as their 6th win for the song. Seohyun gave the winning speech before Girls’ Generation’s encore stage, thanking Girls’ Generation’s fans and staff.




The Girls' are never seemed to be tired as they continue their comeback promotions. They held a mini fan meeting before their performance on Mnet’s “M! Countdown” on September 3rd.


They performed “Lion Heart” and were able to win first place on this week’s program, making it the girls’ seventh win so far.






"Lion Heart" received the highest score for all time in M! Countdown for a total of 10988 whereas the maximum score an artist/group can receive is 11000. Accordingly, the categories and scores they got are as follows:

The Girls’ Generation returned to KBS’s “Music Bank” on September 4th for another performance of “Lion Heart”.


The girls were able to secure first place on the program for the second week in a row during this current promotion cycle.




On September 5th, Girls’ Generation appeared on MBC’s “Show! Music Core” for a performance of “Lion Heart”.


The performance was pre-recorded last week, as Girls’ Generation attended the “2015 Digital Media City Festival K-POP Super Concert”. Thus, no winner was announced episode's show.




In the continuation of 'Lion Heart' promotion, Girls' Generation performed at SBS' "Inkigayo" on September 6th. The group performed its latest title track in black outfits with a few twists in the dance’s choreography.


Following Girls’ Generation’s performance, Girls’ Generation was announced as the winner of this week’s “Inkigayo”, taking first place with “Lion Heart”. This was the group’s second week in a row taking home the crown on “Inkigayo” and ninth win overall across all weekly music shows for “Lion Heart”. Yuri gave the winning speech for the night, thanking fans and Girls’ Generation’s hard-working staff.




On September 10th, Girls’ Generation won first place on Mnet’s “M! Countdown”. Unfortunately, Girls’ Generation was not present at the show to perform or accept the trophy.

This was Girls’ Generation’s third win in a row on “M! Countdown” with “Lion Heart”, giving the song a triple crown and removing it from eligibility for future wins on the show. “Lion Heart” won with a score of 10,961 points, the second highest score ever recorded on “M! Countdown”, the highest being the 10,988 points scored by “Lion Heart” last week on September 3rd. Overall, this is Girls’ Generation’s tenth win overall across all of Korea’s weekly music shows with “Lion Heart”.

By September 11th, Girls’ Generation appeared on KBS’s “Music Bank” to sing “Lion Heart”. Girls’ Generation performed “Lion Heart” in white and pink dresses, while adding a few changes to the choreography for fans to spot. The group was also briefly interviewed as one of two candidates for first place on “Music Bank”.

At the end of the show, “Lion Heart” was announced as the first place song on “Music Bank”‘s weekly K-Chart. Yuri gave today’s acceptance speech, thanking Girls’ Generation’s staff and fans. This was the third win in a row for “Lion Heart” on “Music Bank” and eleventh overall across all weekly music shows in Korea.


On September 12th, MBC’s “Show! Music Core” held a special concert as part of the Digital Media City Festival that was broadcast live, featuring multiple artists with special stages. Girls’ Generation performed “Lion Heart” and “Gee” for the show, and was joined on stage by other girl groups (Red Velvet, Sonamoo, April) at the concert for “Gee” as the final performance.







The Girls' promotion for 'Lion Heart' has came to its end at the September 13th episode of SBS’s “Inkigayo”. As they perform the song on the goodbye stage, it was also announced as the winner of this week’s show, taking first place. This was the third win in a row on “Inkigayo” for “Lion Heart”, marking a triple crown and removing the song from eligibility for further wins on the music program. Seohyun gave tonight’s acceptance speech, and as always, gave her thanks to Girls’ Generation’s fans and staff.






Throughout the comeback, Girls’ Generation placed first once each on SBS MTV’s “The Show”, MBC’s “Show Champion”, “Show! Music Core”, and three times each on Mnet’s “M! Countdown”, KBS’s “Music Bank”, and SBS’s “Inkigayo”, for a total of twelve wins. Girls’ Generation scored the fifth highest score of 2015 on “Music Bank”, the fourth highest score of 2015 on “Inkigayo”, and the two highest scores of all time on “M! Countdown”. “Lion Heart” was also the highest selling album on the Gaon album chart for the month of August and the second highest on the Hanteo chart for the same time period.
