Girls'Generation won at 29th Japan Gold Disc Awards

Girls’ Generation received two awards at the 29th Japan Gold Disc Awards, marking the fourth straight year Girls’ Generation has been honored by the awards show.

Last year, Girls’ Generation’s “Girls’ Generation II ~Girls & Peace~” and “LOVE&PEACE” albums also were chosen for “Best 3 Albums of Asia” at the 28th Japan Gold Disc Awards. In 2012 and 2013, Girls’ Generation’s other releases were honored in various categories as well.

For 2015, Girls’ Generation’s “Indestructible” was chosen for “Song of the Year by Download” along with “Let It Go”, in Japanese and English, from Disney’s “Frozen”.

Girls’ Generation’s “The Best” album won the “Best 3 Albums of Asia” award. Fellow S.M. Entertainment labelmate TVXQ! also placed two albums in the category.

Another good news is heading in its way!

The Girls' Generation is set to release the 'Girls & Peace in Seoul' Concert DVD on March 31st for the Seoul stop of the “Girls & Peace” world tour. The concerts in Seoul took place on June 8th and 9th in 2013 and kicked off a tour that eventually visited Taiwan, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Macau.

The “Girls & Peace in Seoul” concert DVD will also come with a 100-page photobook, a poster, and behind-the-scenes video footage. The concert itself will be divided into two DVDs with tracklists subtitled in Korean, Japanese, and Chinese.

The “Girls & Peace in Seoul” concert DVD is now available for pre-order from YesAsia (poster in tubefolded poster), Synnara, KTOWN4U (poster, no poster), HMV Japan, and other online retailers.

On the other hand, the rumors regarding Girls’ Generation to release their fifth album have emerged through Korean media is said that the group will release the full Korean album on May 5.

This will their fifth album after they last released full album ‘I Got A Boy’ in 2013. The album will also become their new era and beginning, because this is the band’s first album with just eight members.

In a response to this, SM Entertainment has since stepped up to tell TV Daily that they're still unsure about the exact album release date, but also didn't address whether May really is their intended date.

A rep stated on February 26, "Girls' Generation is consistently preparing for their comeback as eight members, but the exact album release date has not yet been decided on."

Girls’ Generation are currently preparing their latest Japanese single titled ‘Catch Me If You Can’, which is scheduled for release in April.
