Her brother once said, when Taeyeon was in middle school,
she was already an ahjumma. Her co-members also
confirmed her nature and called her JummaTeng

Once when she was recording a solo, Taengoo did not sing well and she
could not reach the high notes. She tried recording it again many times
but it was the same. She cried. Everyone was shocked to see Taeng crying.
Fany, who couldn't walk that time due to lef injuries wanted to walk towards
her to comfort her but HyoYeon stopped her from doing so. Taeng later said

Question: How long do you think you will steadily promote together? Taeyeon: Obviously, I was born to be in front of the public as Girls' Generation. I would love to be a fellow of Girls' Generation in the public until the end. That is also something the members always keep for themselves. When I grow older, old enough to not be applicable in dancing with high heels, I would still want to be Girls' Generation. It is something that all of the nine members would like to preserve in keeping.

She is sang OSTs and Ballads

 

One of her hobbies is to draw.

She hates aegyo. She once said she had a hard time being cute in "Gee".
But Sooyoung said otherwise, she said Taeyeon really creates
aegyo when they are performing "Gee".

She revealed that she once skipped training (back in her
training days) then she came back feeling sorry.
She also said that she want to quit as a leader of SNSD,
but this thing never materialized.

Taeyeon thinks she would burden the girls if she let them see that
she's upset over something, that's why she keeps so many secrets/problems.

Hard-working Taeyeon also became a DJ in ChinChin Radio

They said that she had a history of sleep talking and
sleep walking.

Aside from her nicknames, Taeyeon were also called "Byun Taeng".
(ByunTae = Pervert)
Probably the reason is because of the present which is a toy and when you
pushes the butt of the figure with a ballpoint, it will shout ‘oops’.

Taeyeon voted herself as best cook of all nine members though
others voted for Hyoyeon.

She is said to have 5 piercings.

When she was in her middle school year, after finishing a task with a question "What do you want to do when you grow up?" Taeyeon answered, "Singer!" and that teacher told her that her dream is unrealistic. From then, she preserved to achieve her dream. In 2004, she joined an audition for young singers of SM Academy and received Best Singer Grand Award.

Since young, Taeyeon rarely played with her dolls, instead she usually played with guns, robots and cars with her brother. When she was in elementary/primary, Taeyeon was one of the tallest student in her class. With this advantage of height, she usually evolved with fights against the boys in her class, even, she wasn't afraid to start the fight with her own brother.

During high school, Taeyeon used to sneak out a lesson with her friends, they had to cross a wall to sneak out. However, when it was Taeyeon's turn, Taeyeon's shirt held her back and she was hanging with 2 hands spreaded like a scarecrow.

According to Madarin, Taeyeon means Prettiest Beauty. However, initially, her dad wanted to call her by a beautiful and arrogant name because she's the first daughter of the family, so her name should be 'Cherry'. However, her grandmother didn't agree and decided to call her 'Taeyeon'. After that, the beautiful name 'Cherry' was given to a dog in the house.

Teachers in SM Academy always proud of Taeyeon and Eugene (a former of S.E.S). Taeyeon really like Eugene. When she knew that her teacher used to teach Eugene, she followed them so they can buy food for her and train her like Eugene.

In the basement of SM Academy, there were a few personal practice rooms. There used to be only a limited amount of rooms during Taeyeon was a trainee. All the trainees fought for those personal practice rooms and Taeyeon always won. So, you can always hear Taeyeon sings and according to many accounts, it was a strong voice and filled with emotions that they ever heard.

Taeyeon defended for SONEs on an episode of Radio Star. Kim Gookjin asked, "Don't the Soduks oppose to that?" after Taeyeon shared her kiss in a musical. The members had surprised looks on their faces, so Kim Gookjin re-stated that Soduks are Sonyuhshidae Dukhoos."

Taeyeon immediately responded, "It's not a nice term". The MCs had to apologize to Taeyeon.

*Dukhoo means overly obsessed over someone. 'Soduks' mean Girls' Generation's fans.
