On December 30th, Sooyoung attended the “2014 MBC Drama Awards”, serving as both an MC alongside comedian, Shin Dongyup, and as a nominee in several categories for her portrayal of Lee Bomi in “Springtime of My Life”.
Before the awards ceremony, Sooyoung took part in the red carpet event. Dressed in a long, gold evening gown, Sooyoung smiled and posed for pictures for press media and fans in attendance.
Following the red carpet, Sooyoung would go on to open the “2014 MBC Drama Awards” with a special dance performance to Jessi J’s “Bang Bang”.
After, Sooyoung and Shin Dongyup hosted the awards ceremony together before Sooyoung was presented the Female Excellence Award – Mini Series for her role on “Springtime of My Life”. She graciously and humbly accepted the award while holding back tears, thanking the drama staff for giving her the opportunity to play Lee Bomi and supporting her along the way. She also gave a special thanks to S.M. Entertainment staff, her fellow Girls’ Generation members, SONEs, and her family, while also mentioning Kam Woosung and the many other senior actors, mentors, and colleagues in her life.
Finally, Taeyeon and Sunny both congratulated Sooyoung on Instagram by posting screenshots of her receiving the award on their TVs. Taeyeon and Sooyoung did the same yesterday when Sunny won the Newcomer Award at the “MBC Entertainment Awards”.
