Gallup Korea has announced the results of its annual year-end poll for the artist who voters thought made the year shine.
Taking 12.4% of the vote, Girls’ Generation placed second in this year’s poll behind IU, who won first with 12.9%. SISTAR, EXO, and Lee Sunhee rounded out the top 5. Representative works for Girls’ Generation this year were listed as “Mr.Mr.” and “Holler”.
Girls’ Generation has now ranked in the top five for this poll for the last eight years, taking fourth in 2007 and 2008, first in 2009, 2010, and 2011, second in 2012, and fifth in 2013.
'Gallup Korea' calculated 2,774 votes from males and females 13-59 years of age from all of Korea except those in Jeju Island in a survey during the months of October and November. The participants were asked to choose their top three favorite artists among those who promoted this year.
