Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung bared it all in the premiere episode of MBC’s latest drama “Springtime of My Life” that was broadcast last night, September 10.
In the episode, she gave a surprise by undressing and showed her chest, which is one of the scenes, when she was chatting with a grandma and showed her scar from heart surgery.
The scene has sparked interest in what might be happening next in the upcoming episodes.
In this particular scene, a clinical dietitian Lee Bom (played by Sooyoung), is seen bickering with an elderly patient about taking care of her health. When the patient refuses to listen to Lee Bom, she reveals the scar on her chest which she received from having heart transplant surgery. In the process she revealed her flower-printed bra. Lee Bom says, "You've been in the hospital for 67 days. I've been a patient for 136 days. I lived looking out the window everyday not knowing when I would die. Do you still think that I wouldn't know how you feel?"
When the patient responded, "So what do you want me to do?" Lee Bom cheerfully replied, "Is there anything you want to eat?"
Fans who have seen the scene gave their comments, “That can be (someone else) not Sooyoung,” and “That cannot be called bare it all,” fans said.
This scene quickly gained attention, however, a rep clarified that it was in fact a body double who filmed the scene on her behalf.
A broadcast rep revealed on the 11th, "Although Sooyoung expressed her intent to do this scene herself, following the producers' advice, a body double acted it out instead... Since the script came out, there were scenes that required a double, so it was because we already finished recruiting one."
It wasn't Sooyoung's chest after all!
That scene is essential because the drama“Springtime of My Life” is about a heart patient named Lee Bom Yi (Sooyoung) who received a heart transplant, and met with her donor’s husband, Kang Dong Ha (Kam Woosung). They are involved in a unique love relationship.
Fans can watch the drama that is broadcast every Wednesday and Thursday at 10.00 p.m. KST (Korean Standard Time).
